The Eco-Pipe has been CSIRO tested and rated for storm water and sewerage. It has proven ideal for all low pressure water transfer, storm water drainage and flood irrigation applications. It is the market leader in 100% recycled plastic large bore pipes and for installation under logging roads and difficult to access installations.
It is tough and has high impact strength while retaining lightweight attributes and a smooth finish. This stiffness was demonstrated as SN 6 for the 250 mm pipe and SN 4 for other sizes in accordance with the PVC Stiffness Test, AS/NZS 1462.22:1997. It is certified for civil applications under Buried Flexible Pipelines, AS/NZS 2566.1:1998. Being flexible it relies upon the surrounding embedment material to absorb and transfer vertical loads to the surrounding support zone. A minimum cover requirement must be considered and adhered to.
The Eco-Pipe is relatively light, easy to cut and handle, does not require special lifting cranes or slings and can be easily moved into position. Its jade green colour is aesthetically and environmentally appealing. It has a higher resistance to barnacle build-up than timber or concrete. It is proven to be highly resistant to internal abrasion, is impervious to salt water and UV resistant.
The Eco-Pipe is available in six (6) inside diameter sizes:
· 250 mm
· 300 mm
· 375 mm
· 450 mm
· 525 mm
· 600 mm
The pipes come in 6 m lengths and should be ordered with either the bell mouth or flanged pipe for fitting of pipe locks. Only the smaller sizes can be flanged. The pipe locks have a rubber ring seal with an over-centre locking mechanism. They are suitable upstream or downstream with 1 m of head pressure and are easy to install.
Aluminium 960 mm high Slidegates to regulate flow can be bolted and sealed directly to the Eco-Pipes or to Headwalls for 250 mm to 450 mm piping.
Winged Headwalls are rigid and tough with a 75 mm deep front lip to minimize washout. They have in-built star picket lugs for stabilisation and a standard 250 mm pipe hole with indents for other sizes. Headwalls are easily chain sawed or jigsawed and can be fitted to other pipes.
Fittings available are:
· Elbows and angles
· T pieces
· T piece and reducer
· Combination lobster which includes T pieces with angles
Aluminium Flaps and Chains are available for all Eco-Pipe sizes for tidal situations where drainage from blocks is required and the ability to stop rising return water is essential. They have a simple water-tight seal one-way valve action in upstream applications. They can be used as a channel check point and crossover with the one installation.
Culvert and crossover applications are simple especially with the Headwall. They come with a bell-mouth for easy installation and can be easily cut with a chain saw, angle grinder or handsaw. They are inert to acid or saline soils so will not rust or rot underground and will carry the heaviest legally loaded traffic.
Correct private property installation procedures must be followed so as to not void the warranty such as, in site preparation, trenches should be excavated as narrow as practical to allow efficient installation, and all rocks, tree roots and other hard objects should be removed.
